New to Canada? Welcome!
Canada is a wonderful country for many reasons, and just one of them is that, new immigrants don’t have to wait to purchase a new home.
Whether you’re here on a work visa, have landed immigrant status and are working, are a non-landed immigrant who is currently working, or you’re a new immigrant who has applied for or been issued landed immigrant status – as long as you have been employed in Canada for a minimum of three months, you can qualify for a mortgage.
That’s great news! Now, here’s how to get started.
The First Steps Toward Your New Home
To get ready to buy your new home in Canada, all you’ll need are the following documents:
- A letter from your employer
- A recent pay stub
- 12 months of verifiable bank statements from a recognized financial institution (if you’ve been in Canada for less than a year, this can include a financial institution from your country of origin, or you may also provide 12 months of verifiable monthly payments in good standing, such as from a phone or utility bill)
With these in place, the next step is to find a mortgage broker who can help you secure a mortgage. And that’s where we come in.
